Become a Lindy Advisor
The success of the Lindy Scholars Program wouldn’t be possible without the Lindy Advisors, a group of Drexel University students who serve as both tutors and mentors for our middle school Scholars.
On average, Lindy Advisors serve the community between five and eleven hours per week in the following ways:
Tutoring: Lindy Advisors tutor their Scholars twice a week at their Scholars’ elementary school from approximately 2:15pm-5pm (including travel time). Advisors are assigned to be either a Math Coach or a Literacy Coach and implement curriculum designed by the Lindy Scholars Program while utilizing techniques and methods learned through their on-going training and support.
Mentoring: Lindy Advisors provide mentorship to their Scholars four Saturdays per term from 9am to 2:30pm including orientation and debrief time. Advisors spend the day on Drexel’s campus engaging in planned activities that focus on the Three Pillars of Academic Excellence, Character Development and Opportunity and Access. Activities include academic contests, art projects, athletic opportunities, science experiments, character lessons, field trips and much more!
